Hinamatsuri
My sister's friend Debbie invited us to a Japanese Girl's Day (or Doll Festival) called Hinamatsuri. We asked Noriko and Isabelle to come with us and Noriko told me that Girl's Day is celebrated on the third day of the third month every year.
Here are some of the beautiful Hina dolls that were on display - Emporer and Empress at the top, musicians, etc underneath. (Sorry, I don't know all the details of who they are supposed to be!)
The two monkeys being silly on the tatami mat...

After lunch and some demonstrations, they decided to head back to the mat and started dancing and holding hands - very cute!

A photo taken by Holly - Isabelle is wearing a little crown they made (under her chin instead of on top of her head!)
